Abstract Dr. A. Grippo

 Bioflavonoids in Herbal Supplements

Dr. Grippo will analyze ten herbal supplements to determine the concentrations of at least six bioflavonoids, using two HPLC techniques. If, as expected, bioflavonoids are present, future experiments will determine the ability of the purified agents on CYP activity. Further future studies include the effects of herbal supplements on reproduction in laboratory animals; CYP modulation due to bioflavonoids or other toxicants on large animals; and analysis of metals in herbal supplements.
