Fall 2006 Symposium Poster Awards

 

Poster Awards

Poster awards were given in the undergraduate category. There were 56 posters and each was judged by at least three judges.

The prizes consisted of cash awards — $150 for 1st Place, $100 for 2nd Place and $50 for 3rd Place.


Biological Sciences

  • 1st Place — Josue Goss, Harding University, "Characterization of 2D Micropatterned Neuron Monolayers"

  • 2nd Place — Jana Gertsch, U of A, “The Effects of Finished Drinking Water Components on the Electrochemical Immunoassay Detection of Cryptosporidium parvum in Water”

  • 3rd Place — Jacob Laas, Pittsburg State University, “Synthesis of Coumarin Derivatives for Possible use as Soybean Seed Treatment”


Physics

  • 1st Place — Hannah DeBerg, University of Arkansas, "Investigation of Cellular Ageing Using Optical Raman Tweezers"

  • 2nd Place — Stephen Wagner, Harding University, "A Sensitive Raman Spectrometer"

Only one prize per category per institution could be awarded.
