This workshop is required for those who wish to apply for Arkansas INBRE Summer and Pilot Study Grants for the January 2017 deadline.

This workshop, designed for faculty at the predominantly undergraduate institutions, is intended to provide insight into the National Institute of Health (NIH) grant writing process and the Arkansas INBRE award process. Significant areas to be addressed include:

·         Writing a complete and concise specific aims page

·         Writing succinct, focused significance and innovation sections

·         Developing the research approach section based upon specific aims

We will also address the form pages (i.e., biosketch, budget, justification, resources and equipment). The workshop will conclude with faculty presenters discussing common proposal pitfalls they have encountered in their experience as NIH Study Section Reviewers and offering suggestions on writing a successful proposal.

Date of the next workshop:

Monday, December 19, 2016      10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location:  UAMS Biomedical Research Center 2
Room:  Rayford Auditorium
