Proteomics Facility The Proteomics Core Facility provides the service of protein characterization by mass spectrometry. This includes identification of unknown proteins, quantitative comparison of proteins in biological samples, and mapping of post-translational protein modifications. The facility is supported by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, and Arkansas INBRE. The facility also serves as part of the INBRE Biotechnology Core. Instrumentation associated with the core facility includes LTQ XL ion trap (Thermo), Q-TOF Micro (Waters), MALDI-prOTOF (PerkinElmer), and MALDI-LTQ ion trap (Thermo) mass spectrometers. The LTQ XL and Q-TOF Micro instruments are interfaced with nanoflow capillary LC electrospray ionization systems. The LTQ XL instrument is equipped with electron transfer dissociation capability. The core also maintains a ProGest in-gel enzymatic digestion robot (Genomic Solutions) and an on-site Mascot server (Matrix Sciences) for data analysis.
